Miller is a research staff member at the Institute for Defense Analysis and a former member of the Senior Executive Service in the Department of Defense. He also is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel and is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy with a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Harvard University. Morris is the former director of mechanical engineering and manufacturing at Lockheed Martin. He has a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Texas. Colvin is the former advanced technology manager and Lead for Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages at the Department of Energy’s National Security Campus. He has a master’s degree in Materials Science from the University of Virginia. A dditive manufacturing (AM) is revolutionizing the way parts are designed and manufactured, shrinking development and delivery cycle times, and yielding improved performance at a lower cost per part.
